Latest Life Update: Chase convinced a drunk man that he was actually sober and she was the drunk one. There's nothing more to this story, just thought it was an interesting skill.
September's pick of the month is brought to you by our very own Jammers2239 and he picked- Tokyo Ghoul. Let's see what he had to say:
Tokyo Ghoul, written by Sui Ishida, released in September of 2011, and later ended in September of 2018. The series is incomplete with the first serialization, and later released the sequel, Tokyo Ghoul Re:, in October of 2014. Tokyo Ghoul tells the story of Ken Kaneki. In his Japan, Ghouls are humanoid monsters which blend in with and feast on Japan's unsuspecting humans. To the majority of people in their world, Ghouls are to be eradicated for the safety of mankind- so what happens when Kaneki himself becomes Ghoul? Tokyo Ghoul is this month's pick for several reasons: 1) The characters are fantastic and you get attached to most all of them 2) The suspense and the twists and turns keep you coming back. I read through this at least 20 chapters at a time. 3) The plot is GREAT. It attacks deep questions about what it means to be human, what do we do with the knowledge of how we hurt others, what has purpose and meaning in life, and so on. All that said, this read is not for everyone. Due to the nature of the content, this story contains blood, gore, torture and some other darker themes, so reader be warned. we highly recommend this one, but go forward with caution if you get queasy about certain images. If you are tempted to check it out, you can find physical copies in bookstores everywhere or order online. Alternatively, you can read it electronically from Shonen Jump or Viz's respective apps. If you decide to pick it up, please each out and let us know your thoughts. We hope you enjoy September's Pick of the Month!
